Hello Friends. Welcome to the show. Today is part three of our mini series on how to make a pitch deck foreign investors so you can raise money for your business. In part one of the series, we went over each of the 13 slides that you will use to build your pitch deck and did a high level overview of all of them. In part two, we went over your first slide where you give your elevator pitch and we explained exactly how to do that and a script to get you started.

Now in part three we are on slide number two, which is your problem slide and we’re going to give you a very simple formula to use to set this slide up. Here we go, welcome to build a business success secrets. The only podcast that provides straight talk for entrepreneurs whether you’re an entrepreneur starting with an idea or growing your business.

See white slide two of your pitch deck is your problem slide where you describe the problem that you are solving it is really important that you have figured out the one large problem that you are solving for your customers, whether it’s a product or a service or a combination of both, whatever that is, you need to simplify this problem down so anyone can understand it.

And if you already have your elevator pitch then you’ll be able to pick this out really easily. Here’s a script to use to set this light up a person tries something. Their pain is existing solutions are broken because it’s that simple, you need to break that problem down into those three things and I use three graphics whatever you want to do.

I have a little person trying something and then I have someone grabbing there but with a little blast their like their pain and then existing solutions are broken because whether that’s some form of your product or gears or whatever you want to do there, that’s up to your creativity but break it down into those simple steps and it will be easy for a person to understand what your business is doing.

Let me give you a real world example from a company that I’m sure you’ve heard of and potentially used Airbnb. This is the actual slide that they used to raise money from investors. Their problems slide had three things just like we set up. Price is an important concern for consumers booking, travel online, hotels, leave you disconnected from the city and its culture.

No easy way exists to book a room with a local or become a host. Do you see how they used that exact formula? A person tries something. Their pain is existing solutions are broken because let me give you another example. Finding files on your computer in it. All of your cloud places is super hard to find. And when you can’t find it, you experience excruciating pain because you feel like you wasted time, you know you have this thing but you can’t find it and it will literally ruin your day.

And existing solutions are broken because there’s no one search algorithm out there that puts all this information in one place for you and allows you to find it, how you remember it, which could be by your the person who sent it. The place that you did it the time that you did it or the topic. You see how that works. That is the problem statement for file finder that we’ve talked about before. Again, the same framework person tries something. Their pain is existence. Solutions are broken because use this framework come up with some cool graphics to put just three simple graphics above or below the statement and that is your problem aside for your pitch yet.
