Hello Friends. Welcome to the show. Today we’re talking about our up coming name change to our podcast. Here we go. Welcome to build the business Success secrets. The only podcast that provides straight talk for entrepreneurs whether you’re an entrepreneur starting with an idea or growing your business. This show is for you. We’ll teach you how to build a strong mindset, powerful body and profitable business so you can achieve success. And here’s your host, Brandon. See White, we’re renaming our podcast and the new name that you will see soon is called Edge, Just Edge.
And to keep this episode short, I am not going to go into every single reason or the thought process because it was long and involved and I wrote over 3000 words about it in our print newsletter that accompanies this podcast called to build a business success secrets newsletter, which will become the edge newsletter as well. But I’m going to point out a few highlights and takeaways that you can learn about naming because as business owners, when we are starting a business or we’re launching new products naming is one of these things that really can cause a lot of anxiety and it’s hard get a good name these days is hard that matches the domain name. It’s hard to come up with short names. It’s hard to come up with original names. So this whole process can really throw a doozy into your injured the whole I’m using the word process a lot today into the whole process. Let me give you a few reasons and what you can learn from us One build a business success secrets is too long, it’s too long, it’s hard for people to remember.
It’s hard in our branding, sometimes it creates uh it goes around the line when we’re putting it into our literature, it’s just too long and it’s too long for people to remember short names are memorable and if you look at all the top brands out there, which you could bring any of them to mind. Their one or two words, they’re not four, not five, there are one or two words and those are the memorable ones. So with that edge came up and out of a whole bunch of other ideas that we had and finally came down to edge and I will say that when we decided on just edge, it felt really uncomfortable because I, I was thinking, well we need an adjective before edge entrepreneurs. Edge business owners. Edge your edge. And through the process we came up with just make it simple and short and making things simple as we’ve talked about over and over again. And as we know is really hard.
It’s like writing a really long piece letter or a blog post and that’s easy to sort of get it out on paper compared to paring it down and getting it shorter and simpler, more concise, so too long. Another reason is it more easily opens the door to some other guests I want to have on the podcast because go to business success secrets, I felt like whether it was real or not was eliminated in us, that if it wasn’t directly applicable to business itself, then someone could say, well you’re running out of material or this is getting your off script, so to speak. And the truth of the matter is as business owners, exposing ourselves to people from all walks of life is a huge advantage. I can’t think of any company I’ve started or any product that’s come out of a company that didn’t have some sort of influence from another discipline and other walk of life, whatever that that is.
And all of those experiences are rich experiences that you can borrow from these different people, professions or industries. So with that I want to open it up. I want to be able to have an artist on here and say, well how does that work now? Our slogan does sort of open that up, mind body business, I’m gonna talk about that in a minute because we got that wrong too was a huge violation of sort of the rules that we that I even teach out there, but it’s one of those lessons that you learned that while you got to have really smart people around you and people who will challenge you with that following though on the edge, that’s going to allow us to have and maybe you want a fighter pilot on here, why do you want to fire a pilot,
Well they have to focus, there’s all sorts of lessons that you can learn from these people and professions and it really felt like edge at the end of the day, opened up the aperture if you will to allow us to do that. The last thing I’ll say today on this topic is we got our slogan wrong And this was a Big one. So our slogan was or is currently you know when you’re listening to this, but it will change soon enough is built a business success secrets straight off for entrepreneurs, mind, body business and my body business says what we do, but it doesn’t tell you the benefit. Well why do I want to know about my mind? Why do I want to master in my mind? Why do I want to take care of my body? Brandon, I’m a business owner. What does that have to do with anything? Well it really has everything to do with your ability to execute if you don’t take care of yourself. But you see, I even have to explain that with that slogan and it doesn’t really set the bar for us. So with my body business, I could say, well how many times did we talk about mastering your mind in the last month? How many times did we talk about mastering your body or tuning your body?
And that’s just a scorecard but that doesn’t really allow us to measure how well we did it. So our new tag line is making business owners happier healthier and richer, that’s what we do and that will drive everything else that we do. If we do a podcast, the mark is did we make business owners a combination or one happier healthier and richard in some way or provide the tools to get you to those places and happier, it really is mastering your mind. Healthier is taking care of your body and your mind and richer is building a successful business that throws off money that you can invest in other places or build another business if you want, whatever that is. So our new name, Edge will be coming out in the next few weeks. It’s a big lift to get all this stuff changed, I can tell you it’s no small task when you start listing out your work plan of every single thing that you need to change in everything that we have.
So we’re working through that list and we hope to get there in the next few weeks and as soon as it comes out you’ll see the image itself will have the same colors, but it will say Edge making business owners happier healthier and richer.
