Final Exam Question
KATE WAS FINISHING HER FIRST YEAR towards her business administration degree.
She knew her final exam in Professor White’s class would be challenging, so she spent extra time reviewing her notes before the test.
She worked through most of the exam without any difficulty because after all she was an A student, but the last question stumped her…
“What is the name of the person who cleans your dorm?“
“This had to be some kind of joke, right?!” she thought to herself, almost saying it out loud.
“How can I be expected to know the name of the janitor?”
She wasn’t the only one thinking this…
The mumbled displeasure of the other students swept through the classroom.
Kate spoke out…
“Professor White, does the answer to this last question really count toward our grade?”
“Yes, it does,” he replied.
“Most of you dream about being the President, CEO, CFO, COO, or another C level title, of a successful company. Whether that’s one you start as an entrepreneur or one you work your way up into the position.
BUT, success is a team effort.
A good leader takes nothing for granted and recognizes the contributions made by everyone on the team...even those people who appear to do the most insignificant jobs.”
Kate got that answer wrong, but it’s lesson she will never forget.
Your move.
