The rain storms this winter in NorCal have been nothing less than incredible. Roads washing out, crazy wind, surf, mud slides, trees falling, flooding not seen in years, it’s been WILD.
One family had an ENORMOUS pile of mud and rocks wash up against the front of their house.
The owner of the house began to shovel small portions of the pile into a wheelbarrow. He dumped the load on the other side of their property that had washed away from the rain to fill that area back in.
A friend came along, watched for a while, then said,
“Jack, don’t you realize that’s too big a job for you?”
“Well”, said Jack,
“I don’t have enough money to have someone come in here with a bulldozer, and while I’ll admit it looks like too big a job for me, I’m not ready to admit that I can’t do it without giving it a try.”
Jack didn’t waste time worrying about the size of the job or his ability to finish it…
He was doing what he could, with what he had, where he was, within his budget.
He went ahead and started.
The friend came back later in the afternoon and was SHOCKED to find the whole pile of mud and rocks were gone from the front of the house.
He knocked on the door and Jack answered.
“Jack, I’m so glad you were able to get a bulldozer in here, can I get the contact information in case we need them for our house with the coming storm?”
Jack went into the house and came back with a number on a piece of paper and handed it to his friend.
The fiend looked down, looked back, 👀 and and said ,
“This is your number???”
Jack replied,
“Yes it is, NEVER UNDERESTIMATE what you can accomplish when you BREAK THINGS DOWN and focus on just ONE WHEELBARROW AT A TIME. You’ll surprise yourself!”
