Hello Friends. Welcome to the show. Today I’m going to share with you what happened when I only ate fruits and vegetables for 10 days? Here we go. Welcome to build the business success secrets. The only podcast that provides straight talk for entrepreneurs whether you’re an entrepreneur starting with an idea or growing your business. This show is for you. See White, I didn’t mean to do this experiment, but here’s what happened. My wife Yvette went away on a business trip for a week and I ordered Instacart to get my food for the week and by mistake I guess I ordered a ton vegetables when the person drove up to my porch and put all this stuff down, I was like, oh my God, did I order all this, can I return it?

And I ordered a ton of broccoli. I ordered a ton of cauliflower, asparagus, broccolini, lettuce, spinach, I mean just an incredible amount. So as I’m putting it in the refrigerator, I decided that I would only eat vegetables and fruit until I ate it all out of the house so that I didn’t waste it because I just couldn’t waste it. There’s just so much. So here’s what happened. The first thing that happened was I got really, really hungry the first few days and was effectively I felt like I was starving. After about 48 hours, I actually started to feel better. No, when I say better, I mean less bloated a little bit sharper in the mind. The hunger pains went away. It just made me feel better and I really lost that craving to eat, so to speak. 2nd thing that happened is all this water retention that was happening and happens occasionally to me started to stop even with riding my bike. And I can always tell because I take off my wedding ring off and on and if it’s loose I can tell I’m not holding a ton of water and then I could mean that I’m a little bit dehydrated but I can tell the difference.

There’s times when I can’t even get my ring off which means that you’re potentially holding a lot of water which means your body is doing that because it feels like it isn’t getting enough water. So my my water retention moderated and it really sort of normalized. Number three thing that happened is I felt way sharper now. I had already come off of caffeine a few months ago and you can listen to I think two episodes ago where I explained how that experience was for me. But that definitely helped me become sharper. But mentally I just, I’ve really been able, I was just dialed in more And maybe felt more present would be a way to describe it. So it definitely had that effect. Number four, I slept better. I feel like my sleeping just getting better and better. I have a sleep monitor that I use underneath my mattress that does breathing and heart rate and all these things. My heart rate was lowering over the 10 days and I just slept better. It was just a more, I would say not peaks and valleys, but just moderate that If I described the whole experience number five by about day seven, it was very clear that I was, my body was burning my, my body fat for the fact that it needed. And I was losing weight. Now that could because of water retention as well. But my scale does have this electron list thing that sort of measures body if I don’t know how much.

I believe it because I used deck scan to measure true body fat, which I have to go to a place over in san matteo for and you may have one and you can look it up dex can in your, wherever you’re living there. A lot of places do have them and they are the most accurate. But it definitely, I started losing body fat and I could tell because my parents in my shorts, they were, they were all much looser. Number six, my energy actually increased. It didn’t decrease. So it did decrease for a minute in the early few days. And then I actually started getting more. Now I’m not a scientist in that sense. I don’t know what was happening very possible that my body was burning. It’s fat and that was becoming efficient and it made me feel better. But it really it really my my energy was just much more, much more in the higher range if you will. And the last one I mentioned because I came up with seven of them here, that really was one of the greatest benefits is I stopped craving things. So it wasn’t as if I had a I eat a lot of sugar, anything anyway. But a there’s occasional when I just want some food and all those cravings went away and it was sort of weird in that I was thinking about having a steak one night and it’s like I don’t want that steak. It was as if I was like I want to keep this state of mind, the state of body and the feeling good over or outweighed the negative that I felt if I eat this other food. And it was really, it was really strange. Now I don’t recommend this. If you’re going to do anything like this, consult your doctor, I’m not recommending you do it. I did it because I didn’t want to waste the food and I sort of dumbed into it and decided to do this experiment until it all ran out.

And I did stay even after I ate all the vegetables. I did stay on a few more days because I think the vegetables that I ordered last about a week and I was eating fruit. So I was eating strawberries, blueberries blackberries and peaches just as an aside so that, you know, because your body does need some level of sugar for your brain to function. So I was eating that probably two servings of fruits a day, but the rest was just vegetables. And I’d say the only caveat to that is I did eat 1000 put 1000 island dressing. Oh my sound and the combination of not having caffeine, which I got off of a little while ago and making sure that I’m hydrated, I put lemon in my water. It’s just like really felt good now. I don’t know that it’s sustainable. Long term I rode my bike, I didn’t do really, really hard efforts, so I wasn’t using a ton of sugar. I was burning fat on those rides. If I had done some hard efforts, I’m not sure that I would have been able to recover as fast, Maybe I would have to eat more fruit to get the sugar, but give it a try maybe just for a few days just to sort of, I don’t, I hate the word detox because I think that’s sort of gimmicky, but it really just gets all of whatever else is in your system out of there.

So, and just for clarification, I do not eat any wheat, I did not eat any of those type of beans, did not eat any of that. I was eating lettuce, spinach, celery carrots. What else was I eating. That’s that’s really probably the extent I was really eating what I would consider real vegetable pure coming out of the ground leafy type things and oh I was this artisan iceberg lettuce. I really found that really, I don’t know it tastes better. So I was combining that with regular iceberg lettuce and spinach and then carrots and celery in my salads. And then I was eating asparagus for dinner and for breakfast I was eating a mishmash of cauliflower and broccoli that I put in the pressure cooker And that that’s what I eat. So every day for basically 10 days along with two helpings of vegetables. So I’m not recommending that you do this and I don’t even I read a bunch of stuff on it after I did it. That doesn’t recommend doing it because your body really does need some protein and fats. So this this diet wouldn’t or this nutritional program wouldn’t allow you to do that.

But in the short term just to sort of detox or cleanse yourself from some things and make yourself feel a little better and get yourself back to a steady state of which you can build on. I think this was for me really felt great again before you go off and do this, consult your doctor and if you do do it right me tell me what you found my email be at Brandon.
