Today we are on part 13 of our master class on how to make a pitch deck for investors in 13 slides so you can raise money for your company and we are on our next to last slide with slide number 12 are use of fun slide. Here we go. Welcome to build a business success secrets. The only podcast that provides straight talk for entrepreneurs, whether you’re an entrepreneur, starting with an idea or growing your business.
This show is for you. We’ll teach you how to build a strong mindset, powerful body and profitable business so you can achieve success and here’s your host, Brandon. See white slide number 12, our use of fun slide, our next to last slide. How exciting is this use of funds? What we’re talking about here is how much money we need. We’ve set up this whole incredible story about our product or service.
We’ve talked about the market, we’ve talked about our team, we’ve talked about the financials on how much how much money we can make. And now we’re talking about the money that we need from investors to make all this happen. This is our ask slide and it’s pretty straight forward. How much do we need for the plan, which we probably talked about or should have in our financial slide?
And what are we going to do with the money that we’re asking for? So in this slide, you’re going to put how much money you’re asking for in the top, a larger fault, then the rest and then break out exactly what you’re going to use the funding for. If this is a sales and marketing expansion, then talk about the sales and marketing that you’re going to use it for. Are you going to use part of this for online?
Are you going to do direct marketing? Is this going to be for a sales force is going to be for something else? Do you need to increase your inventory because you’re selling so much stuff that you’ve got to have a larger inventory. If you are then what does that look like? And as importantly on this slide, where does it get us to? We’ve told the story about how exciting this is and we’ve now asking for this money and we want to talk about what this money gets us. Does this money get us? If we have a $3.5 million company, does this money get us to a $7 million in revenue company.
Does this get us to a $5 million company? What is it? Where does it take us? Are we gonna need another round of funding? And if we do, what will that look like? Really set out the story from here, of where our company is going so that an investor can understand what that is and how you’re going to use the money. And it’s really that simple here again. You’ve teed up this slide in your financial slide and you’ve hinted along this along the way.
Even in your business model slide, you started to talk about the economics and someone who’s listening to this story can start to put together that you’re probably going to need money based on what you’re talking about. So put this slide together. Make the ask. Don’t be shy. Remember this is why you’re here. It’s hard to ask for money, but be bold, be exciting, be confident as importantly as anything because remember someone’s giving you their money with the idea that they’re going to get a return at this point in putting your slide deck together.
You have all the information for this slide. So it’s really a matter of transferring that information from your financials and your business model.
